Dr Nadir Alvi, a pediatric surgeon, currently serving as a visiting specialist at KMC, recently handled a highly complex case. Two weeks ago, a newborn baby girl was referred to KMC with a rare and life-threatening condition — her breathing (windpipe) and feeding (food pipe) tubes were abnormally connected. This required an intricate reconstructive surgery, a procedure with a low success rate globally. Despite the challenges, after a four-hour-long surgery, the operation was successfully completed. The baby has now fully recovered and is safely back home. This remarkable outcome reflects the exceptional expertise and commitment of our medical team.
